Privacy Policy
Effective October 10, 2026
The short version
- Your images are analyzed to produce your rating, then discarded. We don't store them.
- Without an account, your rating stays in your browser and disappears when you close the tab.
- With an account, we save your ratings (scores and text, never images) and your planner so you can track progress.
- We don't sell your data, run ad trackers, or identify the people in your photos.
- We only use cookies that make Feedi work: signing in and remembering purchases.
- You can download or delete everything from your account settings at any time.
1. Who we are
Feedi is operated by [Feedi legal entity name] ("we", "us"), [Mailing address]. We are the controller of the personal data described here. Contact us at [privacy@yourdomain.com].
2. What we collect and why
Screenshots you upload. Your browser compresses them and sends them to our server, which passes them to our AI provider to produce your rating. They are not saved to disk or a database, and are discarded once the rating is returned.
An Instagram handle you enter. We use it to retrieve that account's publicly available posts through our data provider. Only public accounts work. We download the post images, send them to our AI provider for the rating, and discard them. We don't retrieve or keep captions, bios, follower lists, or private data. To show your edit plan, we send small previews of your posts back to your browser, which keeps them in session storage for that tab only. They never reach our database, even if you're signed in.
Your rating. Returned to your browser and kept in its session storage so the results page works. If you aren't signed in, it isn't stored on our servers and is cleared when you close the tab.
Your account. If you create an account we store your email address, when you joined, and, if you add it, your Instagram handle. To sign you in we email a one-time code; we store only a keyed hash of it, for 10 minutes. Your sign-in session is a random token in a cookie; we store only its hash.
Saved ratings and planner. While signed in, each rating is saved to your account: scores, categories, fixes, archetype, palette, and the handle rated (if any). For ratings by handle, we also keep small previews (240 pixels) of the posts your report shows, so past reports can show your feed as it was rated, and the ids Instagram gives each post and slide (no images), so a re-scan can tell which suggested changes you made; both are deleted with the rating or your account. Full-size images are never saved. Posts you add to the planner (titles, captions, notes, chosen audio and look) are saved so you can come back to them. If you ask for caption ideas, your post title, notes, and look are sent to our AI provider to generate them.
Account analytics (Feedi Pro). If you connect your Instagram account, we first check a one-time code in its public bio to confirm it's yours. Then, each time you run an analysis, we retrieve through our data provider your account's public profile counts, your recent posts (like and comment counts, captions, post times, and format), and the first public comments on your recent posts, including each commenter's username. Post covers and comment text (without usernames) are sent to our AI provider to label post types, group comments into themes, and suggest posts; images are discarded afterwards. We save the results (numbers, labels, captions, commenter usernames and counts, comment themes with a few example comments) to your account so you can see them, keeping your last 12 analyses. Disconnecting deletes them. We never collect who liked your posts, private messages, or anything that isn't public.
Planner photos and post coach (Feedi Pro). Photos you add to the planner are your own uploads. We compress them in your browser and store them on your account so you can attach them to planned posts. When you ask the post coach, the photos you select and your message are sent to our AI provider to pick and order them; we never comment on the people in them. The coach can also check a planned carousel's order; for that, the photos and a summary of your latest rating (palette and look) are sent to our AI provider. Photos you only send to the coach are deleted automatically once you have more than 120. We keep your last 200 coach messages. Deleting a photo, clearing the conversation, or deleting your account removes them. Planned posts can have a date you choose to post them.
Usage records. To run the service and keep costs in check, we record each AI or data request we make for you: what kind it was, when, and its estimated cost. If you delete your account, these records are no longer linked to you.
Purchases. You pay on Stripe's checkout page; Stripe collects your payment details and email. For a Feedi Pro subscription we store your Stripe customer reference, subscription status, and renewal date. For a one-time plan we receive confirmation that the payment succeeded, a checkout reference, and which rating it was for.
Cookies. We only use strictly necessary cookies: feedi_session keeps you signed in, feedi_pro remembers which ratings this browser bought a one-time plan for, and feedi_checkout briefly links a checkout to the browser that started it. None contain your name or email. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies.
Technical and usage logs. Like any website, our servers receive your IP address and request details. We use your IP address in memory, briefly, to prevent abuse (rate limiting). For handle ratings, our server logs record the handle, how many posts and images were rated, processing time, and AI usage, so we can monitor cost and reliability. Logs are kept for up to [30] days.
3. People in photos
Feeds often include photos of people. Feedi rates the visual design of the page only. We don't use facial recognition, don't identify anyone, and instruct our AI not to comment on anyone's appearance. You may only rate accounts you own or have permission to rate (see our Terms).
Creator benchmark. To show what strong feeds have in common, we analyze the public feeds of a selection of independent creators. We keep design measurements (scores, color and editing traits, how posts are arranged) on our own computers, never their images, and the app only uses anonymous totals across many feeds. No creator is named or identifiable in Feedi. Creators can ask to be removed at [privacy@yourdomain.com].
4. Who we share data with
We share data only with the service providers that make Feedi work:
| Provider | Purpose | Data |
|---|---|---|
| Anthropic | AI analysis for ratings, account analytics (post types, comment themes, post ideas), caption ideas, and the post coach | Feed images; for analytics, your post covers, captions, and comment text (without usernames); for caption ideas, your planned post's title, notes, and look; for the post coach, the photos you choose, your messages, and a summary of your latest rating |
| ScrapeCreators | Retrieving publicly available posts when you rate by handle, public posts and comments for analytics of your own account | The Instagram handle you enter |
| Brevo | Delivering sign-in codes by email | Your email address and the one-time code |
| Stripe | Payment processing for Feedi Pro and one-time plans | Payment details and email, entered directly on Stripe's checkout page; subscription status |
| Hosting provider | Running the Feedi website and its servers | IP address, request logs |
Our AI provider processes images under commercial terms that don't allow using them to train its models. We don't sell or rent personal data, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the safety of our users and service.
5. How long we keep it
- Feed images: full-size images are never stored; they're discarded when your rating is returned. Signed in, small previews of the posts your report shows are kept with the saved rating until you delete it or your account. Without an account, previews stay in your browser until you close the tab. Planner photos you upload are kept as described above.
- Ratings without an account: only in your browser, until you close the tab.
- Account, saved ratings, planner, planner photos, and post coach messages: until you delete them or your account. Account deletion removes them immediately (backups roll off within [30] days).
- Sign-in codes: 10 minutes. Sessions: 30 days after your last visit, or until you sign out.
- Usage records (request type, time, estimated cost): kept for running the service; unlinked from you when you delete your account.
- Purchase records: kept by Stripe, and by us as needed for tax and accounting law.
- Account analytics: your last 12 analyses, until you disconnect your Instagram, change your handle, or delete your account. Verification codes: 24 hours.
- One-time plan cookie: up to one year, or until you clear it.
- Server logs: up to [30] days.
6. Legal bases (EEA and UK)
We process data to provide the service you request, including your account and subscription (contract), to prevent abuse and keep Feedi secure and affordable to run (legitimate interests), and to meet legal obligations such as tax records. Where we process publicly available data about an account you rate, we rely on legitimate interests and on your confirmation that you own or have permission to rate that account. Account analytics run only on an account you've proven you own; for the public comments they include, we rely on legitimate interests (showing you engagement on your own posts, which Instagram already shows you). For the creator benchmark we rely on legitimate interests, keep only design measurements, and remove anyone who asks.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and California law), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. If you have an account, you can download all of your data or delete your account yourself in Account settings. For anything else, email [privacy@yourdomain.com]. We won't discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
If your public account was rated by someone else and you object, email us; we hold no stored copy, but we'll help and can block the handle from future ratings.
8. Children
Feedi is not for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child under 13 used Feedi, contact us and we'll delete anything we hold.
9. International transfers and security
Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), encrypt locked content, sign cookies, limit request rates, and avoid storing images at all. No system is perfectly secure, but we design Feedi to keep as little as possible.
10. Changes
We'll update this policy as Feedi changes, for example when accounts launch, and revise the effective date. For material changes we'll give notice in the app.
